Admissions and How to Apply
Thank you for your interest! The application portal will open by December 1. Applications are due March 1st to be considered for the following academic year (August start date).
Students with an interest in women’s mental health, integrated behavioral health, and telehealth training are especially encouraged to apply. Clinical psychology doctoral students will have the opportunity to receive focused training and mentorship from Dr. Kimberley Johnson, a women’s health-focused psychologist with interests in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, pregnancy and infant loss, infertility, birth-related trauma, and the PsyD Training Clinic Director, and Shannon Lynch, a psychologist who specializes in women’s recovery from cumulative interpersonal violence, partner violence, sexual assault, PTSD, and incarcerated women, and the PsyD Program Director. Applications for the Clinical Psychology PsyD program located in Meridian Idaho are submitted through the ISU Graduate School Portal. You will be asked to submit the following:
- a statement of purpose that addresses your career goals, relevant past experience, and your interest/fit with the PsyD program at ISU
- a CV/resume
- transcripts
- names and contact information of three letter writers (letter writers will be contacted through the application portal to directly submit their letters)
Admission Requirements
In addition to the general requirements of the Graduate School, the applicant must:
- Have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (preferred not required) during the last two years of undergraduate study.
- A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts with an undergraduate major in psychology or the equivalent.
- Passing grades in undergraduate courses in research methods and statistics.
- Sufficient exposure to fundamental core areas in psychology to be successful at the graduate level.
