Trailblazing New Paths, From Mountains to Medicine!

Hello! My name is Tana Bond and I am going into my second year here at ISU. I grew up in the Boise area and have a large array of interests that take up any free time I get. I am an avid hiker; no matter the weather, you will most likely catch me out on a hike. During the warmer months, I spend a lot of time mountain biking, boating, camping, and surfing. I grew up horse-riding, and do so any chance I get! I also love playing around on dirt-bikes and go-carts. In the colder months, I spend almost all of my time skiing. To put it simply, I love the outdoors!

I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree with Honors Distinction! I plan to apply to the Nursing program this coming fall and (hopefully) start the program in Spring of 2026. I decided to become an Honors Peer Mentor to become more involved in the Honors Program and provide guidance to incoming Honors students. Moving away from home for college has been one of the hardest yet rewarding things I have ever done; coming to ISU has helped me grow both academically and personally in so many different ways! Therefore, as a Peer Mentor, I hope to provide guidance in all aspects of college life for incoming Honors students.

In the future, I would love to pursue a variety of different nursing careers! From becoming a flight nurse to pursuing a Masters Degree for either Nurse Practitioner or CRNA work, I truly can not decide what I want to do; might as well try it all! That’s the great thing about college: you grow and learn so much about yourself, so changing your mind is not uncommon!

I am stoked to meet my mentees and make new friends!
