Just Riding the Wave

Hello everyone! My name is Lillian. I am so excited to get to meet all of you and be your mentor. I am currently studying health science with the hope of becoming an occupational therapist. I have always loved learning about the human body and how it functions. I am also on the Bengal Dance Team. We perform mostly at football and basketball games in preparation for our nationals competition so if you get the chance, come and watch! I have been dancing for about 14 years now and plan to keep dancing throughout my life whether it is through teaching, competing, or taking classes. I also enjoy doing outdoor activities such as skiing and whitewater rafting with my friends and family. I started doing these activities at a young age and have loved them ever since.

My best piece of advice for your first year as an honors student at ISU is to take it one day at a time. The beginning of a week can feel very overwhelming and stressful but that is when it is most important to remember that stress is temporary and you are capable of succeeding and doing great things during your time at ISU and after you graduate. There are also plenty of resources on campus that can help you with any problem you might come across. I have yet to have a bad experience with any of the staff here at ISU so don’t be afraid to reach out and ask!
