I won’t ask for your Social Security number.

What’s up, my fellow Bengals. My name is Leyton Bice, and I am a second-year student at Idaho State University. This will be my first year as an Honors peer mentor, and I’m excited to share what I’ve learned and help guide you through your own ISU journey. I took a slightly non-traditional path to college, starting my school journey a few years later than most, but that experience has given me a unique perspective on balancing academics, personal growth, and new opportunities.

Before coming to ISU, I spent two seasons working in Yellowstone National Park, where I developed a deep love for the outdoors. That time shaped who I am today, fueling my passion for backpacking, climbing, and skiing. Academically, I’ve been fortunate to be involved in the RADMASS research project here at ISU, working on innovative methods for measuring and reprocessing spent nuclear fuel. It’s been an incredible experience, and I encourage anyone interested in research to step outside their comfort zone and get involved. College isn’t just about getting a degree, it’s about discovering new passions, meeting people who challenge and inspire you, and finding out what truly excites you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and take risks. I’m here to help however I can, so don’t hesitate to reach out. Looking forward to an awesome year!
