“I tried to cut back from 10 diet cokes a day to 5, but I just felt awful. So I went back to 10.” -John Daly  *I would change it to Dr. Pepper ;)

Hey! My name is Jordyn Horak and I am a second year student at Idaho State! Currently, I am majoring in Visual Communications, with an emphasis in Photo and Video Editing. In addition to this, I am completing a certificate in Sports Media, and Professional Sales. I also work two on-campus jobs. The first one is with ESPN filming all of the athletic events. The second is a marketing internship with the athletic department. This is running all the game-day promotions at basketball and football games. So if you see me at the sporting events, make sure to come say hello! In my free time, I love to play and watch sports, read, go to the gym, and hang out with my friends. I will never put down a good sports romance book. If you have any recommendations, let me know! My dream career would be working in the NFL as a marketing coordinator or director. Working with athletes and as an athlete my whole life has taught me so much, and my love for sports has only grown since being at ISU. I hope one day to be an inspiration to those who are trying to break into the industry, as so many people are for me.

You can usually find me at almost all campus events, sporting events, and even just walking around with headphones on. Music is almost a hobby of mine, as I try to keep up with all the new and popular music. Currently, you’ll probably catch me listening to Travis Scott, The Future, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake (I know, kind of all over the place). If you have any good song suggestions, please send them my way. I am so excited to be a mentor this year because I really want to help stressed and worried students like myself adjust to ISU in the best way possible. My experiences with working, school, and social events have taught me so many lessons that I hope to pass forward, and save my mentees the trouble of having to learn all the negative lessons on their own. Whether I am your mentor or not, please feel free to reach out to me, or talk to me in passing, as I am always aiming to meet new people. I am so excited to get to know all of you, and cannot wait to help you all in your journey to your dream life. My best advice to anyone coming into college would be to talk to people and ask questions. You are not going to know everything, no matter how hard you try, so reaching out to the resources that are available is essential to success in college.
