Hi! My name is Evie and I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho. I came to Idaho State University because of its reputation for good health science programs and to be close to home. I’m going to school to be a dietitian, as I find food and nutrition super interesting. I want to work in a hospital as a dietitian because I want to be in a clinical setting. I’m also a Spanish for Health Professions major. I would love to study abroad in a Spanish speaking country like Spain or Costa Rica, both to improve my Spanish and to see new parts of the world. I am very grateful to be part of the Honors Program here at ISU. It has been so helpful, from figuring out a plan of study, and also access to scholarships and other various opportunities.
As for my own interests, I am a huge bookworm and my dream is to have a giant library. I read on average 50-60 books a year, from a wide range of genres. My favorite book is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott, I have read it over 15 times. I listen to all kinds of music as well, but my favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Tate McRae, The Lumineers, and Coldplay. I love all things outdoors: hiking, running, rafting, camping, and more! I love to travel, and I have had the opportunity to visit some beautiful countries, Italy and Croatia being my favorite. I also watch a lot of shows, my favorites being Criminal Minds and Avatar the Last Airbender. My other hobbies include crocheting and playing the piano. Lastly, my advice for incoming students is to go to lots of events and get involved. This is a great way to meet new people and create connections. Also, don’t be discouraged if it takes time to adjust to being in college. I didn’t get fully comfortable with all of it until my second semester of freshman year. It’s a very new experience and is very scary and exciting all at once!
