Hey there! My name is Betina and I love making new friends. I am so excited to be your mentor and I hope to create connections along with supporting you as best I can if you ever need anything. When I first came to ISU I was really nervous that I was biting off more than I could chew being in the honors program, having a full time course load, and being on the Bengal Dance Team. First year college anxiety is completely valid, however, I found that I actually could manage it all and it was possible to persevere through the stress. I learned this by taking everything day by day. You don't have to know everything all at once and it's okay to fall a little before you fly. As your mentor, I hope to be someone you can rely on and someone to show you that there is a light at the end of the tunnel even in times where it doesn’t feel like it.
If you couldn’t tell, I am someone that prides herself on being super positive. I am not a very blunt person but I will get after you if you throw away anything that should be in the recycling bin. Additionally, I have been dancing for over 15 years and I am so lucky to be able to represent my college with my amazing teammates on the Bengal Dance team. If you see me at a game or school event, please give me a wave or say hello! I love big dogs, chocolate chips, pickles, stargazing, making pasta, adventures, lifting, jigsaw puzzles, hiking, and trying new things! I am always down to hang out, especially if we are getting a sweet treat!
