Internships
The purpose of the Career Path Internship (CPI) Program is to provide opportunities for students to be employed both on and off campus as interns in positions concomitant with their academic and professional interests. This program enhances student success by employing students in their educational/career field of choice, giving them hands-on experience, enhancing job readiness skills.
Students majoring in a Department of Biological Sciences Degree Program have two paid CPI options:
Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (CPI UGTA) | Research Assistant (CPI RA)
If you are interested in the Department of Biological Sciences CPI program, read the content found at the Career Center CPI Program page and then follow the instructions for the CPI option you are interested in (CPI RA or CPI UGTA).
Undergraduate Teaching Assistant (CPI UGTA)
-
- CPI Undergraduate Teaching Assistants (CPI UGTA) teach a 3-hour lab, attend the instructor meeting each week, and grade assignments.
- Courses that a CPI UGTA can TA are: Biology I (BIOL 1101L), Introductory Microbiology (BIOL 2233L), Anatomy and Physiology I & II (BIOL 2227L or 2228L), and Advanced Anatomy and Physiology I & II (BIOL 3301L or BIOL 3302L).
- CPI UGTAs can work up to; 1) 9 hours per week for one lab section, or 2) 18 hours per week for two lab sections. Hours spent on the following are approved CPI UGTA activities for time submission:
