ISU to Offer Responder Alliance Training

October 2, 2025

ISU’s Department of Continuing Education and Workforce Training will be offering Responder Alliance Training on November 15.

The training focuses on teaching resilience skills to first responders, rescue personnel, as well as other outdoor professionals, with skills to mitigate stress, injury, and burnout. Developed by Laura McGladrey, a first responder, psychiatric nurse practitioner, and outdoor educator, Responder Alliance Training is divided into two sessions: Stress Injury Awareness and Incident Support Framework. These courses can be taken independently or together to gain a deeper understanding.

Thanks to a generous donor, ISU is offering this course at the greatly reduced rate of $25 dollars per session.  Course participants are eligible for contact hours. Stress Injury Awareness will run from 8 am to noon, and Incident Support Framework will run from 1 pm to 5 pm. Those interested in registering for the course or learning more can find more information at bit.ly/4nR4Xtq or contact CEWT directly at 208-282-3372.

We would like to extend a BIG Thank You to Dr. A.J. Weinhold MD, FAAFP, FAWM, ISU Associate Program Director, Director of Rural Programs, Wilderness & Austere Medicine Fellowship Director, Family Medicine Faculty, for bringing this training to campus.
