BA in Global Studies (U.S and Foreign Affairs) 2024 | Certifications: Advanced Spanish, TESL

Azraiel Raines graduated from ISU in 2024 with a Bachelor's degree in Global Studies, focusing on the U.S and Foreign Affairs. They also earned certifications in Advanced Spanish and Teaching English as a Second Language. 

Currently, they work as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Counselling at ISU, where they manage employee and student documentation, handle departmental communications, and maintain the department’s website and social media accounts.

Although this is their first full-time position, Azraiel brings a wealth of experience from their time as a Global Studies student. They developed strong research, public records analysis, professional writing, and organizational skills from their studies in Global Studies. These skills are now used to support faculty, students, and the broader ISU community. Also, their previous student roles provided valuable experience in database management and problem-solving, which has helped them to identify creative solutions others might miss.

Azraiel volunteers regularly with the ISU Community Garden by helping with watering and weeding. They hope to pursue a Master’s degree in Public Affairs or Library Information Science.
