Aspen Brown

Aspen Brown, 2024 graduate with dual degrees in Global Studies and Biology
BA in Global Studies (U.S. and World Affairs) and BS in Biology (Biomedical Sciences) | 2024
Aspen Brown graduated from ISU in 2024 with double majors: a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a focus on U.S. and World Affairs and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on Biomedical Sciences.
Aspen recently began working as a Case Manager and Community-Based Rehabilitation Specialist with One Love Agency. She is tasked with connecting refugees with mental health, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders to local resources to support their transition to life in the United States. Her duties also involve developing individualized service plans and advocating for client rights.
Now in her second gap year, Aspen is applying to medical schools and combined Master of Public Health programs. Aspen believes that her Global Studies background has broadened her approach to healthcare, one that involves developing a vision that combines clinical practice with policy, social determinants of health, and advocacy. With a strong foundation in behavioral health, she aspires to pursue a Child Neurology Residency after medical school while continuing to contribute to global health initiatives.
Beyond academics and work, Aspen enjoys weightlifting, reading, traveling, hiking, embroidering, baking, and attending concerts. She is also a Family Liaison Volunteer with the Idaho Pediatric Cancer Coalition (Twin Falls branch), where she supports families of children diagnosed with cancer. Aspen credits the Global Studies program for broadening her perspective and setting her on the path to meaningful interdisciplinary work.
