About the Frank Church Symposium

Each spring, Idaho State University’s Pocatello campus hosts the Frank Church Symposium—a rare, student-led, and student-funded event that brings diverse global perspectives to Idaho. Named in honor of Senator Frank Church, known for his pivotal role in U.S. foreign relations during the Vietnam War, the symposium celebrates his legacy of diplomacy, insight, and leadership.

Since its founding in 1970 by ISU’s International Affairs Council (IAC), the symposium has welcomed distinguished speakers, such as Polish Ambassador Marek Magierowski, Indian Ambassador Arun K. Singh, and Stanford University’s Dr. Larry Diamond.
