Mikaela Davison, PsyD
Forthcoming.
Mikaela grew up in the Pacific Northwest and has always had a love for the outdoors. In her free time, she enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and reading fiction books. She is currently a doctoral student at Northwest University in Kirkland, WA, and holds a Master’s in Counseling Psychology. Mikaela is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and earned her Bachelor's degree at the University of Washington.
She has worked in various roles, including as a behavioral technician and case resource manager, supporting children with developmental disabilities and their families. While in college, she worked as a barista and enjoyed connecting with others over coffee.
She is passionate about helping individuals who have experienced trauma and adverse life events. In the past year, she has specialized in providing care to First Responders, Veterans, and Active Duty Military personnel. Mikaela has experience in individual counseling and co-facilitates a peer support group for Veterans and First Responders. Mikaela utilizes trauma-informed approaches in her work, including EMDR and CPT. She primarily operates from a CBT lens and integrates other methods as needed.
Mikaela is most excited about furthering her growth and learning new approaches to counseling. She has always been drawn to Idaho for its close proximity to the mountains and the chance to have nature right in her backyard. She looks forward to joining the team at ISU in the upcoming year and sharing her passion with the community.
