Student Teaching Placement Process
1. Placement Process Begins
Once all student teaching requirements are met, the Office of Field Experience will contact you directly to start the placement process.
2. Placement Confirmation
After your placement is finalized, you will receive an official placement letter from the Office of Field Experience outlining:
- Your assigned school site
- Your Cooperating Teacher (CT)
- Your University Supervisor (US)
3. Initial Contact
After receiving your placement letter, reach out to your CT and US to begin preparing for your student teaching experience.
4. Student Teaching Semester
You’ll complete a 12-week consecutive internship that includes:
- Six Formal Observations: Three conducted by your University Supervisor and three by your Cooperating Teacher.
- Completion of the Common Summative Assessment and An Individualized Professional Learning Plan
- Submission of all Student Teaching Portfolio assignments
