Reader & Proctor

Job Summary:
The Reader & Proctor is responsible for assisting candidates during examinations by reading questions aloud and ensuring the testing environment remains fair, quiet, and secure. This role is crucial in supporting test-takers who require assistance due to disabilities or special needs, as well as maintaining exam integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Read exam questions aloud clearly and accurately to candidates who require assistance.

  • Monitor candidates throughout the examination period to ensure compliance with testing rules and regulations.

  • Prevent cheating, disturbances, and unauthorized materials in the testing room.

  • Provide general support and guidance to candidates as necessary while maintaining a professional and impartial demeanor.

  • Set up the examination room, distribute materials, and ensure a proper testing environment.

  • Report any irregularities or incidents to the examination coordinator promptly.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all examination materials and candidate information.

  • Assist with timing the exam and notifying candidates of remaining time as required.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and reading skills.

  • Ability to remain impartial, vigilant, and discreet.

  • Patience and understanding when assisting candidates with special needs.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Prior experience in proctoring or educational support roles is a plus.

  • Basic computer literacy may be required depending on the testing format.

Working Conditions:

  • May involve standing or sitting for extended periods during exams.

  • Must adhere to strict exam protocols and confidentiality agreements.
