Idaho State University is proud to celebrate the achievements of art alumna Yidan Guo (MFA ’24), who has been selected for a fall artist residency at Surel’s Place in Boise.
Yidan will share her work during Boise Open Studios Weekend, with an open house and gallery exhibition on October 11–12, and she will return on November 3 to present her final Artist Talk and Exhibit: The Souls of Resilience. She will also lead a public watercolor workshop during her residency, offering the community an opportunity to learn directly from her.
Originally from China and now based in Pocatello, Yidan’s art reflects a cross-cultural perspective that blends her international experiences with her time at ISU. Her selection for this residency is both a recognition of her artistic talent and a continuation of ISU’s legacy of preparing graduates who contribute meaningfully to the arts.
