Visiting Artists and Events
Our Mission Statement
The Visiting Artist and Scholarly Presenters Program (VASPP), brings regionally and nationally acclaimed artists and scholars to Idaho State each year. VASPP invites practitioners in the field of art, design, and art history to share their work and scholarship with ISU students and the local community. Residencies include lectures, workshops, classroom/studio visits, and exhibitions. Visiting artists are also brought to campus through the efforts of individual faculty and student organizations. These events are open to the public, fostering greater understanding of contemporary art and the issues that inspire those who create and reflect upon visual culture today.

Annual Art a la Carte Silent Auction Fundraiser

On November 7, 2025 at 5-8 PM the Idaho State University Department of Art will host its 12th annual Art á la Carte Silent Auction. The event, which raises money for student scholarships, the visiting artist program, department needs and the ISU foundation, will take place at the Pocatello Art Center.
The main event includes a silent auction and sale, which will auction off and sell art made by students, faculty, and alumni. The ISU Fine Arts Club will attend and participate as well. We invite the public to come see what our students and faculty have been creating and possibly bring something home!
Items at auction include jewelry, ceramics, prints, sculptures, paintings, and wearables. Bids will be accepted during the preview exhibition from Oct. 31-Nov. 1 at the Pocatello Art Center.
