Erin Thomas has been teaching middle school classrooms for 25 years. During these 25 years, she has carved some time to foster critical thinking and scientific literacy. Erin developed a school-wide program for teaching Claim, Evidence, and Reasoning (CER), hoping to provide teenagers with a way to structure their scientific literacy clearly and effectively. Erin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master's in Education. In her teaching experience, Erin is a Nationally Board Certified Teacher with extensive experience in middle school science education. As the Science Content Chair and Wellness Committee Chair at my school, she has taken on leadership roles that reflect my dedication to both academic excellence and student well-being. For the past 17 years, Erin has been honored by nominations from students, parents, and the community as a potential Teacher of the Year candidate, a testament to the positive impact she strives to make in her classroom and beyond. In her free time, Erin enjoys exploring the connection between science and art, having appreciations for photography and forensics.
