Laura Burns
District Special Education Supervisor
Laura Burns has created the following course for the Albion Center:
Laura Burns taught Special Education for 7 years and has been an administrator for 15. She is an experienced District Special Education Supervisor with a strong background in educational leadership and student-centered programming. Over the course of her career, she has served as a special education teacher, American Sign Language instructor, building administrator, Director of Program, and district-level supervisor, bringing over two decades of expertise in supporting diverse learners. Laura holds a Master’s in School Leadership from Wilmington University and is certified as a Principal/Supervisor, K‑12 Teacher of the Handicapped, and Elementary Teacher in New Jersey. With additional studies in Sign Language and experience teaching ASL, she integrates inclusive communication strategies to support students and families. Laura is known for fostering collaboration among staff, parents, and community organizations while designing and implementing effective programs for students with special needs.
