K-12 English Acquisition Specialist (Mathematics Focus)

Heather Palumbo has created the following course for the Albion Center:

• Supporting Multilingual Learners in Mathematics

Heather Palumbo holds a master's degree both in Educational Leadership and Linguistically Diverse Education.  She is currently working as a high school English Language Acquisition Specialist in Colorado where she focuses on supporting multilingual learners in various mathematics courses. Within her 23 years in education, Heather has been a K-5 classroom teacher, K-8 math coach, K-12 Language Specialist, District Elementary Mathematics Coordinator, Adjunct Professor for Northern Arizona University, and Mathematics Education Consultant. Heather passionately works to ensure every child has access to a rigorous, high-quality mathematics education regardless of their race, culture, language, or socioeconomic status. When she is not immersed in her work as an educator, Heather enjoys exercising, reading, and spending time with her husband and two boys.
