Dr. Elaine Foster completed her undergraduate degree at ISU in physical education (exercise science emphasis and coaching minor) in 2008, and then earned her master’s degree in physical education-athletic administration in 2010. As a child, she spent as much time as possible engaged in physical activity outside riding her bike, swimming, camping, fishing or frog hunting. Since she cherished physical activity, it was intuitive for her to seek a career that encouraged physical movement. Throughout her career, she has been a coach, personal trainer, activity instructor, and university teacher. She has taught courses within a variety of subjects to sport management, exercise science, outdoor education, and physical education students. In 2022, she received her doctorate degree in Philosophy in Education, emphasis in Sport Pedagogy and Character Development. The focus of her dissertation was the subjective value of physical activity in our lives. In her free time, Dr. Foster competes in many athletic events including triathlons, Spartan races, and running events. She also enjoys participating in basketball, volleyball and softball leagues and tournaments.
